Celebrating National Assisted Living Week at Kemper House

Kemper House is excited to once again be participating in National Assisted Living Week (NALW), which will take place from September 8-14, 2024. Established by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) in 1995, this annual celebration shines a spotlight on the importance of assisted living communities across the nation. Each year at Kemper House, we eagerly anticipate this special week and look forward to honoring all of the individuals who make Kemper House successful—residents, staff, and volunteers alike while also offering a series of fun and meaningful events that bring everyone together.

This year’s theme, “Inspiring Generations,” is particularly meaningful as it emphasizes the deep connections and bonds that form between residents, staff, and volunteers of all ages. It’s a time to honor the lives and contributions of those who reside in assisted living facilities, as well as those who dedicate their time and energy to making these communities thrive.

“Assisted living brings together individuals from many different backgrounds and experiences,” said NCAL Executive Director LaShuan Bethea. “This year’s theme of ‘Inspiring Generations’ is an opportunity to both look back at where assisted living has been and look ahead to where we’re going as a profession. I hope communities everywhere take a moment to really pause and think about the work they do, celebrate the amazing people we serve and those who serve, engage with one another, and continue to inspire the next generation of assisted living caregivers.”

At Kemper House, we are excited to embrace this theme and have planned a week full of engaging events designed to celebrate and strengthen these intergenerational bonds. To ensure you don’t miss out on any of the festivities, we encourage you to check out our Life Enrichment calendars for a complete list of events. We also hope you join your loved one for any and all of our planned activities and look forward to a week filled with joy, connection, and inspiration as we come together to celebrate National Assisted Living Week.
