2023 Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Team Kemper House

It’s that time of year again! The Alzheimer’s Association Cleveland Area Chapter is gearing up for its annual signature fundraiser, The Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The walk will be held on Saturday, October 21st at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. This year will mark Kemper House’s 23rd Walk to End Alzheimer’s and will be represented by a team of family, friends, and Kemper Krew. Please plan to join our team!

The zoo gates open at 7:30 a.m., the ceremony will be held at 8:45 a.m., and the walk begins at 9:00 a.m. When you arrive at the zoo, look for our Kemper House team. There, you will receive wristbands from our team captains, Kristin Nelson and Jordan Sumser, and can nab a Kemper House t-shirt. Each registered walker with a wristband can also receive a Promise Garden flower. Choose a flower color that best represents your connection to the disease:

Blue represents someone with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
Purple is for someone who has lost a loved one to the disease.
Yellow represents someone who is currently supporting or caring for someone with Alzheimer’s.
Orange is for everyone who supports the cause and vision of a world without Alzheimer’s.

Kemper House also has a number of fundraisers in the works. We have Alzheimer’s Walk Point of Purchase Flowers that family, friends, and Kemper Krew can purchase for $1. These flowers will be displayed in our Kemper House lobby. We are also selling candy bars and purple wristbands at the front desk for $1! All of the proceeds will be donated to The Alzheimer’s Association to support the Kemper Walk Team.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. All Walk to End Alzheimer’s donations benefit the Alzheimer’s Association Cleveland Area Chapter and, ultimately, patients and caregivers in Northeast Ohio. When you sign up for the walk, you will be joining thousands of Northeast Ohioans to collectively put our best foot forward and end Alzheimer’s. We hope you are able to join Team Kemper House to walk for a cause that is so dear to all of our hearts!
