The Kemper House Vision
Kemper House developed a special plan of care that helps people with Alzheimer's and dementia live out their lives with dignity. Every person in this world has something to offer, something to be valued. This guiding principle is incorporated into daily life at Kemper House with our Lifestyles social program.
We incorporate many physical and cognitive programs designed to meet the needs of the whole person and to maintain or enhance the resident's quality of life. These programs are the core of the Kemper House mission: they optimize personal potential, encourage physical abilities, encourage retention or enhancement of social and vocabulary skills, are therapeutic and stimulatory in nature, and most important, allow the resident to maintain a level of personal dignity and self-worth.
At Kemper House we know that a sense of fun and enjoyment of life is important for all of our residents. Persons with memory impairment need more than structured, scheduled events to provide a feeling of purpose and contentment. That's why we place emphasis on meaningful tasks and interactions throughout the day, evening, and sometimes nighttime! In addition to stimulating activities, providing an atmosphere of acceptance, belonging, and importance for each resident is a core value that guides all of our social programming.
