Our Lifestyles social programming isn't just about scheduled events, but meaningful tasks and interactions throughout the day, evening, and sometimes nighttime! The Lifestyles program is truly the heart of Kemper House and reaches out to each individual regardless of stage in the disease process. In addition to stimulating activities, providing an atmosphere of acceptance, belonging, and importance for each resident is the core of our Lifestyles program.
What are Kemper House's special features that enhance the quality of life for residents with dementia?
Kemper House is a freestanding licensed residential care facility dedicated entirely to dementia care. Every aspect of the resident's environment was thoughtfully considered in the design. Among many special features are open, uninterrupted walking paths that promote an important sense of freedom for our residents. Our lovely, spacious suites with private walk-in showers provide the warmth and dignity residents and their families desire.
Will it ever be necessary to move my loved one to another facility? Have any residents ever been asked to leave the facility due to care needs and behavior problems?
Kemper House is specifically designed to care for persons in all stages of dementia, including end of life care. We expect and anticipate significant increases in our residents' care needs over time, and it is our desire to care for each resident permanently. We will openly and honestly share with you the limited circumstances under which we cannot care for a resident.

Although many places have a mission statement, at Kemper House we live our philosophy. For us, it's personal. Kemper House is also different because it is one of few places that exclusively care for residents with Alzheimer's disease and dementia for the rest of their lives. It is not our policy to transfer your loved one to a nursing home once they require heavy care as the disease progresses.
